About Me

I am a proud 16 year resident of Hales Corners. My two children attend Hales Corners Elementary where I serve as Co-President of the HCE PTO. Believing that serving my community is extremely important, having long-dedicated myself to service, I previously served on the Parks Edge Preschool Board of Directors. In my day job as a Supply Chain Leader, I lead a successful team in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment, at a multinational corporation.

Priorities

We must drive growth for all students. I believe that every student within the district deserves to graduate with nothing short of a world-class education. This includes closing the gaps and increasing performance in both literacy and math, building a solid foundation of reading and numeracy skills, for all students. It is imperative to develop and/or maintain a system of protocol that monitors achievement, being especially mindful of closing the gaps for marginalized groups. Student achievement is further driven by high quality instruction, curriculum, and pathways in the four core content areas: Mathematics, Literacy, Social Studies, and Science. Additionally, offering a variety of experiences, through elective classes and extracurricular activities, is critically important. We must keep up with our surrounding, neighboring districts.

Student Growth & Achievement

I am a strong advocate for supporting pathways that will lead students towards post-secondary success: ample opportunities to explore topics and issues that provide foundational background in a variety of careers will help our graduates be empowered to develop a clear vision and plan for their lives outside of Whitnall School District. While this work has begun, I recognize the need to continue to grow our offerings for our students, which should include more opportunities for early college credit, apprenticeships, and licensures. Whitnall students would be well-supported and set up for post-secondary success with a more intentional focus on real-world experiences, curriculum-embedded academic and life skills, and rigorous academics alongside a renewed focus on the arts and extracurriculars in addition to sports programming. ALL Whitnall students deserve choice, challenge, and opportunity.

College, Career, & Life Readiness

Attracting & Retaining top talent

Great teachers make a difference in students’ lives, and in Whitnall we are lucky to have some of the best. Given an acknowledged shortage of teachers, it is more important than ever to examine what the Whitnall School District can offer our entire staff to ensure that we remain a competitive and highly desired district. We want our staff members to enjoy a career in Whitnall, being a vital part of our amazing community. In order to attract and retain top talent, we must also listen, understand, and take into consideration the unique perspective and expertise of staff members through various opportunities to engage with the board and provide feedback. We cannot speak for our staff without first inviting them to the conversation.

It is true that one of Whitnall’s greatest strengths is its strong financial rating. As a school board member and taxpaying community member, I am committed to making financial decisions that best impact the educational outcomes for both students and the community for years to come. I support student achievement, staff retention, and responsible capital improvements which would be reflected in the way that I vote on matters involving our district budget.

Dedicated to Learning

I will take the time to learn, research, and inform myself on matters of board discussion and work. While I trust administrators to set the tone for our work, I realize that my voice and vote play an important role in measures of success and accountability. It is important and worthwhile!
